I Never Planned To Be A Janitor…

In 1999, I was 12 years old. My mom worked for a cleaning business in Wyoming, MI run by my friend's mom, Renee. I would be lying if I said I dreamed of someday owning my own cleaning business. This was not at all how I pictured 2025 to go for me. Honestly, I was expecting a fleet of hot rods and cars taken apart in the garage; what I got instead, was a fleet of vacuum cleaners and mop buckets, lucky me, right?

Albeit I don’t have all the hot rods I’ve wanted, this turned out to be a much brighter future for me, and many others. I did dream of owning a small business one day, but I wasn't expecting to be holding a mop, or cleaning carpets while doing it. But life has taught me that we take the opportunity in front of us, even when it looks or feels like work.

Cleaning has been fun in a way that I couldn’t have imagined, one of those “really satisfying” types of fun. With owning a small business, you have an unlimited amount of opportunity to be creative. It's five in the morning, and I am writing a blog rambling about nothing. I spend my days trying to think of ways we can improve the experience for our customers, as well as how to streamline our processes and operate efficiently. How we go from a phone-call or an advertisement, to providing efficient quality service to our customers without a hitch.

We have an amazing opportunity to provide a great job for a lot of people in our community. We currently employ over 40 people! That is something I am extremely proud of. I never would have imagined that. Getting everyone on the same page and operating efficiently to create this streamlined business is all I think about.
